Leez Priory wedding - Joe & Emma

A selection of images from Joe & Emma's wedding at Leez Priory, Chelmsford in Essex.
Much to the disappointment of the heavens opening up on us throughout the day, we found we had to work inside the priory for most of the shots.

For the preparations Mark and myself worked our normal procedure of one with the bride, and one with the groom.
I stayed with Emma, inside the priory - working only with natural light on my 24mm & 85mm lens. Thinking that flash would kill the scene.
Mark worked inside a small bedroom with Joe & James ( best man) getting ready, ring shots, and the final getting ready shots.
A few select groups were taken in the "piano room", space was tight and lighting was none existent.
Mark had me holding one Quadra with a 4ft softbox, and some ambient was pouring in from a window camera left which seemed to work perfectly.
after the ceremony we did manage to get a break in the clouds for 15 minutes to walk Joe & Emma around the gardens for a handful of posed shots, again ambient levels were right down to a level that we had to re-introduce the lights. Mark shooting, and me acting as the light stand. ( know my place)

The remainder of the day was spent with us working as our normal tag team, bouncing in and out of each others way.
The great thing about having us both at a wedding shoot is that we can be in two different places at once, one inside - one out, one upstairs and one down.......you get it?!

We did actually have some great comments from friends and family at Joe & Emma's wedding, that they noticed how well we worked as a team and it was refreshing to see how professional we were ( even down to our outfits!).

All in, it was a very successful day considering the poor weather even if it did take us a whole hour to find a local shop open for breakfast ( Mark will understand).

A big thanks to Tracey ( front of house) at Leez Priory, catering for our every need.
