The Wedding of Donna & Craig

What a Weekend!

Cap2ure covered another fantastic wedding this weekend, this time travelling up to a beautiful part of the country, Ulverston in the Lake District...

We had the privilege to be commissioned to cover Donna and Craig, the new Mr & Mrs Sewell's big day. As usual we made our plans, having been in regular communication with the supremely organised Donna. We decided that due to the huge distance of over 350 miles each way to be driven we would travel up on the day before and camp nearby!

Prior to arriving we found a cracking little site, very quiet, all the amenities we required and the added bonus it was close to town. We pitched tents and went out and about to carry out a recce of the Church and Venue.

On arrival at the outstanding Abbey House Hotel in Barrow in Furness we knew we were in for a treat. It is a beautiful grand building set in amazing grounds, a great location for images. If the weather holds out!! During the recce we identified a number of areas we could use for both the family shots and the more intimate images of the newlyweds.

The following morning the weather looked OK! however we constantly checked the Iphone for an up to date forecast, looks good till late afternoon....

All aspects of the day were given the usual 110 percent, Donna and Craig looked great as did all the guests. The Service held in St Mary of Furness was one of the few Catholic Services I have been to and the first Cap2ure has covered. Donna kept with tradition and was "slightly late" However everyone else kept their calm and all went to plan!

As soon as we arrived back at The Abbey House Hotel we snapped in to mode and cap2ured the images of just the newlyweds, due mainly to the fact the weather was looking as if it was about to break and we wanted to utilise the fantastic areas we had recce'd the day before.

We moved fast and managed to get all the images we wanted in less than twenty minutes, just giving us a bit of time to grab a few of the family group shots before the heavens opened, they pretty much stayed open for the remainder of the day and long in to the evening.

Not to be outdone we found a few spots within the Abbey to do the remainder of the groups.

Following the wedding breakfast, the evening entertainment began with Ceilidh dancing, disco and ended with a fabulous fireworks display.

A long, yet rewarding day! Thanks go out to Donna and Craig, for hosting us all so well. It truly was a great day.

All that remained was for us to trudge our way back to our campsite, still raining, but too tired to care and rest our weary heads before the long drive home........
